My dear friends in the Lord,

On the very first day of May, we celebrate the feast of St. Joseph the Worker. We end the month celebrating the feast of the Visitation of Our Blessed Mother Mary. Both the feasts remind us of our duty to be sensitive to the needs of others and to work for them selflessly.
On 2nd of May we remember St. Francis Xavier who landed in Goa on this day. We thank God for all the graces we have received in and through him.
On 13 May we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. The month is dedicated to the recitation of Rosary and asking Our Blessed Mother's help in our day-to-day needs - personal, communitarian, local, national, global.
Our Scholastics have their annual Sammelan from 24 to 27 May. Let us pray for all of them that they may imbibe the spirit of the Society and work for the Greater Glory of God in companionship within the Society and in collaboration with all wo/men of good will.
May for us is also the month when most marriages are solemnized. Let us keep the newlyweds in our prayers. May the good Lord who have bound them together, grant them the grace to stay united in love.
May for us is also the month of annual vacation. In the past, most Jesuits spent a part of their vacation with fellow Jesuits in holiday setting in Mt. Abu. This was one of the means that helped mutual bonding. I urge everyone to make use of this opportunity of bonding and spend some time with fellow Jesuits in holiday setting.
